The Foundation in Natural and Built Environments introduces you to key disciplines within the natural and built environments, including architecture, interior architecture, and construction-related fields. It is designed to help you explore how spaces are planned, shaped, and developed before progressing to a specialised degree.

 

Through this programme, you will gain a broader understanding of the built environment and the different pathways available. With Taylor’s supportive learning environment, you will be prepared to progress into degree programmes in areas such as architecture, quantity surveying, and related fields.

Effective 1 July 2025, a 6% Service Tax will be imposed on non-Malaysian citizens, applicable to all fees and charges, except International Security Deposit and EMGS application fees. Fees shown in the Fee Schedule are exclusive of the 6% Service Tax. The Service Tax rate and taxable fee components are subject to change as determined by government regulations.

 

The programme combines guided learning and practical activities, incorporating core modules such as mathematics, English communication, and built environment fundamentals, alongside exposure to architecture, quantity surveying, and construction-related disciplines.

 

Learning takes place through lectures, tutorials, and hands-on sessions, supported by site visits, workshops, and presentations. You will also have opportunities to engage with industry professionals and participate in design-related activities and competitions.

 

These experiences help you develop the ability to analyse spaces, communicate design ideas, and understand how different elements come together in the built environment.
