In line with the directive from Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), all private colleges including Taylor’s have adopted the Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum (MPU), or General Studies Modules, to replace the previous Mata Pelajaran Wajib (MPW) starting 1 September 2013.

The MPU is a set of compulsory modules for diploma students who are required to take the MPU as a pre-requisite for the award of the programme of study. For foundation programmes, the MPU is also offered to students who do not proceed into the degree programmes at Taylor's before they leave for further study abroad.

These core modules provide students with a holistic education that:

Encourage students to question, analyse, and reflect with intellectual rigour.

Instil ethical values and a sense of duty to society.

Empower students to engage with the world through diverse forms of communication and creativity.

  • Develop students’ inner capacity to lead, innovate, and create meaningful impact.
