FLAME (First-Year Learning and Mentoring) is Taylor’s signature mentoring programme developed by Taylor’s Centre for Future Learning, to assist newly enrolled First-Year students to settle into College & University life and study, gearing them towards achieving their personal learning goals.

The programme will be centred around a holistic approach focusing on safe space creation for mentors and mentees to have meaningful conversations while navigating through transitional challenges in their academics and beyond.

This echoes Taylor’s believe in a supportive, intentional relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and accountability to assist newly enrolled students to effectively transition into university and college life.

HOW DOES FLAME HELP YOU? HOW TO JOIN FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Many studies and literatures have shown that students transitioned effectively into university and college when there is a structured mentoring programme.

Some key notable benefits that you can expect from this mentoring programme include an increased sense of belonginess in campus thus improving academic motivation, progression, and learning experience which helps in managing stress and anxiety commonly associated with transition.

You will be auto-enrolled to the programme once you join Taylor's College as a First-Year Student.

Each of our First-Year students will be assigned to a dedicated mentor who will support and guide you as you embark on your transition into your college life at Taylor's Lakeside.
