The RISE Educator Award recipient will win an incredible RM50,000 for their school, which will help amplify their impact and transform more lives in their community for a brighter tomorrow.

WINNING PRIZES

RISE Educator Award 2025 Recipient

Recognising excellence and dedication in education, this award grants a grand prize of RM5,000 to the winner, RM500 to the nominator, and RM50,000 to the school for developing facilities or infrastructure!

RISE Educator Award 2025 Finalists

This award offers RM1,000 to the finalists and RM250 to the nominator. Additionally, RM10,000 in sponsorship will be provided to develop school facilities or infrastructure!

The RISE Educator Award is open to Malaysian citizens who are:

  • Parents of students in Malaysian pre-schools, primary, or secondary schools.
  • Students currently studying in a Malaysian pre-school, primary, or secondary school.
  • Fellow peers, such as colleagues, principals, headmasters, or headmistresses.
  • Members of the public.

Educators from national, private, and international pre-schools, primary, and secondary schools in Malaysia who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their schooling community are eligible for nomination.

While you can only submit one (1) entry for one (1) educator, we encourage you to rally your family and friends to nominate other deserving educators too.

To nominate an educator, simply submit a 100 – 250 words story detailing the impact they've made in students' lives, along with supporting photos.

If your nomination has been chosen as one of the 10 shortlisted participants, Taylor's College will send you a link to the voting platform with your nominee's story in it.

Show your support and vote for the most inspiring story on the RISE Educator page! The top 5 stories with the most votes will advance to the final round, where judges will select the winner.

  • Public voting is open to everyone! Students, parents, teachers, and the community can all take part in supporting their favourite story.

Public voting allows students, parents, teachers, and members of the public to participate by voting for selected candidates with the most inspiring stories on RISE Educator page to become one of the Top 5.

 

The top 5 stories with the highest votes will advance to the final round, where a panel of judges will select the winner. Finalists, nominators, and schools will receive exciting prizes and sponsorships. Please refer to the Winning Prizes section for more details.

Among the 10 nominated teachers, 5 teachers with the highest number of public votes will advance to the final round.

Public Voting (25%)

The top 5 stories with the highest public votes will advance to the final round.

Judging Panel (75%)

A panel of esteemed judges will evaluate the finalists based on key criteria.

  • In the RISE Educator Award 2025 selection process, 10 inspiring stories will be shortlisted from all nominations. These 10 finalists will then enter the public voting stage, where the top 5 stories with the highest votes will advance to the final round.

  • At this stage, a panel of judges will evaluate the top 5 finalists based on the impact and effort of their contributions. Public voting will account for 25% of the final decision, while the judges' assessment will contribute the remaining 75%, ultimately determining the winner.

Judging will be based on the inspirational stories shared, the educational impact made, and the community support received.

The judging panel for the RISE Educator Award consists of prominent individuals from the education sector and the community. This includes Josephine Tan, Campus Director of Taylor’s College; Chan Soon Seng, Chief Executive Officer of Teach For Malaysia; and Cikgu Shawn Stanley Anthony Dass, former teacher of SK RPS Banun and winner of the RISE Educator Award 2024.

 

These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the judging process, ensuring that the award is given to the most deserving educator.

If your nominee is selected as the RISE Educator Award recipient, they’ll receive exciting prizes and sponsorships to support their incredible work. As a nominator, you’ll also be rewarded for recognising their impact.
