When enrolling in this pre-university programme, it is essential to carefully select the appropriate combination of subjects to ensure a smooth progression in your academic journey.
If you have not yet decided on your future degree, take the opportunity to reflect on your interests within fields - Arts, Science, or Business. This introspection will help you identify the optimal subject combination for your SACE/AUSMAT studies, paving the way for a well-informed decision.
Our AUSMAT programme maintains a structured path, encompassing five subjects throughout its duration. This curriculum embraces a balanced evaluation approach, combining 70% college-based assessment with 30% external assessment. You'll seamlessly manage continuous assessments across subjects, with school-based assessments sent for moderation by the SACE Board of South Australia.
Notably, each subject's continuous assessment holds the potential to contribute up to 70% of your total grade. Strive for consistency in your work while valuing the 30% final examination component. The culmination of assessments and grades culminates in the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)* upon program completion.
The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) derives from a student's final results. Calculated from the four highest scoring subjects and 50% from the 5th highest, ATAR functions as a rank, not a mere mark. It quantifies your academic accomplishment relative to peers. For instance, an ATAR of 90 reflects outperforming 90% of your program counterparts.
